Seattle's Best Jewelry Stores for Unique Looks

From statement necklaces to shoulder-grazing earrings, these independent boutiques specialize in one-of-a-kind accessories.

Faris jewelry is sold internationally—but especially beloved in its hometown.

From bold pieces of art to subtle everyday sparkles, jewels can make an outfit, adding color, texture, and a distinct sense of personality to an otherwise pedestrian sartorial choice (no offense, Seattle). These shops keep the focus on artisan-made creations, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, and local designers.

Baleen

BALLARD

The stylish, youthful hoops and cuffs this boutique is best known for are made from cellulose acetate, a fancy technical term for a kind of natural plastic (which most folks will recognize from eyewear frames). Baleen's pieces are lightweight, affordable enough to own the same pair of earrings in multiple colorways, and so simple that they make perfect gifts.

Bezel and Kiln

downtown

The jewelry- and houseware-focused sister shop to Pacific Place's Handmade Showroom functions as a gallery for a huge variety of artisans from around the world. Styles range from simple to maximalist (and even spooky).

Facèré

NORTHGATE AND BELLEVUE

In this collection of unique, contemporary jewelry inside both locations of Green Lake Jewelry Works, the emphasis is on handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces that truly are wearable pieces of art. That means that you won't always find something that speaks to you—but when you do, you'll never want to take it off.

Fancy

MADISON VALLEY

Despite the name, the whimsical trinkets found in this special Madison Valley jewel box shouldn't be reserved for dressy affairs—all the pieces here, from handmade wedding rings to banana-shaped earrings, are meant to be worn and loved.

Faris

Capitol HIll

Seattle jewelry sweetheart Faris du Graf has elevated adornments to architecturally inspired art since launching her line of locally handmade pieces almost ten years ago. When it opened in August 2021, Faris's long-awaited Capitol Hill showroom gave her work—alongside gorgeous complementary lifestyle products and the occasional popup—the brick-and-mortar display it deserves.

Hitchcock Madrona

MADRONA

The owners of this beloved boutique have moved away from selling other artists' designs and leaned into what they do best: upcycling your family heirlooms into of-the-moment pieces you'll actually want to wear. Haven't got a jewelry box full of clip-on earrings and old brooches? They also make a small house collection, including diamond initial necklaces and an especially fun Gameroom Collection.

Gin and the Banker

Bellevue

This regal little boutique along Bellevue's Main Street is the sister spot to beloved clothing shop La Ree around the corner, and contains a similarly well curated assortment of beautiful things. Cases inside are studded with jewels, but not your standard diamond-store fare—think one-of-a-kind antique rings, customizable lockets, and quirky artisan-made earrings.

Olympic Jewelry

FREMONT

For a truly one-of-a-kind, special occasion piece, head to Olympic Jewelry. The Fremont storefront implies a quintessential fancy jewelry shop, but the treasures within—from art deco necklaces to engagement rings whose diamonds were cut a century ago—can't be replicated.

Turgeon Raine

Downtown

When a power couple comprised of a gem aficionado and a gemologist opens a family jewelry store, things get glitzy, and not just in the engagement ring department. Turgeon Raine’s vast collection of ultra-luxury adornments includes original designs, as well as work from international jewelers. There’s a perfect piece for every taste, so long as it’s an epicurean one.

Twist

UNIVERSITY VILLAGE

Jewelry is revered at this U Village showroom that's as much a gallery as a store. Twist offers a curated, comprehensive selection of high-end, high-fashion jewelry—like these whimsical alien pieces from Berlin-based Alina Abegg or these timeless, gold-and-diamond classics from Los Angeles–based Anita Ko (learn more about various designers via a collection of introductory videos on Twist's website).

Something Silver

UNIVERSITY VILLAGE

Bringing a little sparkle to U Village since 1994, Something Silver takes its position as a longtime local jewelry shop seriously: Here, glass display cases feature local art from Twyla Dill's crochet-adorned baubles to Boma's playful classics (as well as blessedly hypoallergenic sterling silver designs from around the world).

Valerie Madison

MADRONA

At first glance, this Madrona jewelry store's stunning selection of sparkles may seem to be of the standard engagement-ring variety. But look closer and you'll notice these classic designs, made in Seattle by Black Latina jewelry designer Valerie Madison, spotlight uncommon stones, recycled gold, and lab-created sustainable gems like moissanite (in addition to diamonds).
